1. Who can register for Vidya Vikas Classes?

Any child who is atleast 4 years old can register to attend Vidya Vikas Classes.

2. Which classes are offered and what are the class timings?

The basic emphasis of the Vidya Vikas school is to teach our children about Hindu religion and culture. In addition to the religion classes, we offer language classes in Bengali, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Telugu and Tamil. We also offer classes in SAT, Dance (Bharat Natyam), Tabla and Geeta Chanting.

Classes are offered every Sunday during the school year. The class timings are as follows:

Religion Session I - 10:00 - 10:50
Language - 11:00 - 11:50
Religion Session II - 12:00 - 12:50
SAT - 9:00 - 10:50
Dance - 1:00 - 2:00
Tabla - 8:00 - 10:00 (first Sunday of the month only)
Geeta Chanting - To be announced

Children can register either for Session I or Session II of the Religion classes --- the content is identical.

Students who are in Grade Levels 7 and above can register for SAT. Students registered for SAT will have to register for Religion Session II.

3. What are the fees for the various classes?

The basic fee for Registration and Religion classes is $50 per academic year. There is a $10 fee for each additional class the student registers for.

As an example - if a student registers for Religion, Language and Dance the fee will be (50+10+10) for a total of $70.

4. What is the registration procedure?

Registration for Vidya Vikas classes is a two step procedure:

(1) Enroll the student online by visiting the Vidya Vikas website at http://vidyavikas.kattare.com

(2) Visit the Vidya Vikas Office in the D/FW Hindu Temple Cultural Hall building to pay the fees and sign the "Waiver and Assumption of Risk" form.

5. What are the registration dates?

Registration for Vidya Vikas classes is currently in progress. Please follow the 2-step process listed above to register your child.

The Vidya Vikas Office will be open only on certain dates during the summer. The dates and timings will be posted on the website.

6. How can I log in to the Vidya Vikas website?

To log in to the Vidya Vikas website, you will need a userid and password. Your email address will be your userid to log in to the website. If your child attended Vidya Vikas classes last year, you should have received an email requesting you to register your child for next year. Use that email address as your log in userid.

The default password to log in is "first1" (without the quotes). To change your password follow the instructions given in "How can I change my password" question below.

To log in to the website, visit the website at http://vidyavikas.kattare.com and click on "User Login" and enter your Email id and password.

If you are new to the website and have not registered before, click on "User Login" and then click on the "New User Registration" link. Enter all the information on the "User Registration" form to create a new log in ID. Once a log in ID has been created for you, use that id to log in to the website to register your child.

7. How can I change my password?

To change your Vidya Vikas website password, log in to the website as described above by using your old password. Once you are logged in, select "User Community" option on the left menu bar, and then "Account Management" and "Change Password".

8. I forgot my password. How can I find out what the password is?

If you have forgotten what your Vidya Vikas website password is, visit the website at http://vidyavikas. kattare.com, click on "User Login" and then select "Request Password". Once you enter all the information on the "User Password Request" form, your password will be emailed to you.

9. My child attended Vidya Vikas classes last year. How can I register him/her for next year?

To register your child for next year, visit the website and log in as described above. Your child's name will be listed. Select the child from the list, then choose "User Community" from the left menu bar, "Parental Tools" followed by "Update existing student". Update contact information on the form and enroll by selecting desired classes and session.

10. I registered my child for next year. How can I add other classes that are offered?

On the registration form, you can enroll your child only for the Religion, Language and SAT classes. To enroll of addtional classes (Dance, Tabla, Geeta Chanting) select the student as described above. Then choose "User Community", "Parental Tools", "Add New Class". You can enroll your child in all of the classes that are offered as long as there is no conflict in the class times

11. One of my children attended Vidya Vikas last year. How can I register his/her brother/sister?

Log in to the website as described above. Then choose "User Community", "Parental Tools" and "Add New Student". Enter all the contact information and then register for classes.

12. My child never attended Vidya Vikas. How can I register him/her for next year?

If you do not have any children attending Vidya Vikas school, you will first have to create a log in id, log in with the id you just created and then register your child.

To create a new log in ID follow the procedure described in "How can I log in to the Vidya Vikas website?" question above

Once your email id is registered you can then log in to the website and then select "User Community", "Parental Tools" and "Add New Student".
